TMS Therapy for Anxiety in Las Vegas: A Non-Invasive Option for Anxious Depression

If you’ve been managing anxiety for months or years, the racing thoughts at 2 a.m., the tight chest before ordinary tasks, the sense that your mind won’t slow down, and medication or talk therapy haven’t given you the relief you hoped for, you’re not alone, and you do have options. One that’s gaining attention in Las Vegas is TMS therapy for anxiety, a non-invasive treatment that’s showing real promise for anxiety symptoms that occur alongside depression.

What Is TMS Therapy for Anxiety, Exactly?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate the areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It doesn’t involve medication, sedation, or surgery; you sit in a comfortable chair for about 20 minutes while the device delivers targeted stimulation, then you’re free to drive yourself home and go about your day.

Here’s the important nuance worth understanding up front: TMS for anxiety isn’t approved as a treatment for anxiety disorders on their own, like generalized anxiety disorder or panic disorder in isolation. Instead, Deep TMS, the specific technology Kayenta Therapy uses, has been cleared by the FDA to reduce anxiety symptoms in adults who have anxious depression, meaning depression that comes with significant anxiety symptoms. If that description matches your experience, this distinction matters less than it might sound. Anxious depression is common, and treating it with Deep TMS is backed by real clinical evidence.

Why Anxiety and Depression So Often Show Up Together

If you experience both anxiety and depression, you’re in good company; the two conditions overlap far more often than either shows up alone. Anxious depression describes exactly that combination: persistent low mood paired with worry, restlessness, or a nervous system that stays on high alert.

This overlap is part of why treating one condition in isolation sometimes falls short. A treatment approach that only targets depression or only targets anxiety can leave the other half of the picture unaddressed. Deep TMS was studied and cleared with this overlap specifically in mind, targeting the neural circuits involved in both mood and anxiety regulation at once.

What the FDA Clearance Actually Covers

To keep expectations realistic: the FDA clearance for Deep TMS and anxiety symptoms applies specifically to adults with anxious depression, not to anxiety disorders as a standalone diagnosis. Clinical studies supporting this clearance showed meaningful reductions in anxiety symptoms among patients being treated for depression with anxious features.

This is worth being upfront about, because it shapes who is likely to benefit. If your anxiety exists independently of any depressive symptoms, TMS may not be the right first-line treatment, and a conversation with a provider about other options makes sense. If your anxiety consistently shows up alongside depressed mood, low energy, or loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, you may be a strong candidate for exactly the kind of relief Deep TMS was designed to provide.

What TMS Therapy for Anxiety and Depression Looks Like at Kayenta

A course of Deep TMS at Kayenta Therapy typically involves daily sessions, about 20 minutes each, over 4 to 6 weeks, generally 20 to 30 sessions in total. Every course starts with a psychiatric evaluation to confirm TMS is an appropriate fit for your specific symptoms, followed by a brief mapping session to calibrate the treatment to your brain’s response.

Kayenta Therapy recommends using your health insurance plan, when possible. We currently accept Aetna, Anthem of Nevada, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Evernorth, UMR, United Healthcare (Optum, Golden Rule, and United Student Resources).

When using a health plan, patients typically incur a co-pay per session and/or deductible dictated by their insurance plan. In some cases, insurance may cover the full cost.  If we are out-of-network, we can try to create a single case agreement with your insurance company.

If we don’t take your insurance or you don’t meet the criteria set forth by your insurance company, there is still hope. You can still get TMS Treatments by paying for the treatment yourself. We offer a convenient pay as you go approach so patients don’t have to come up with the lump sum up front. Sessions are $250 each and paid at the start of each treatment.
